Mechanicsburg and Upper Allen firefighters prepare for the East Coasts largest one day street fair. Jubilee Day and its associated road closures change how we respond and operate at emergencies in our Downtown district.
Every year the Mechanicsburg Fire Department practices stretching long lines from side streets and alley ways up to the street fair. Firefighters also get reps advancing and extending our 35’ extension ladder. This ground ladder is important for when our ladder truck cannot access tall buildings due to the road closures.
Tuesday was our second of three Jubilee Day specific training sessions for 2024. This week firefighters from Mechanicsburg Fire and Upper Allen Fire Department completed multiple run-in scenarios, simulating advancing hose lines during a street fair.
