12-30-2025 1607 hours Mechanicsburg Volunteer Firefighters finish the year with a Residential Structure Fire. The Mechanicsburg Fire Department was dispatched to the 12-05 box for a residential structure fire. Squad 29 made the response as part of the working fire dispatch. Squad 29 arrived and was assigned to the roof for vertical ventilation. Later, Squad 29’s crew helped our mutual aid partners pick up hose before going available after 1 1/2 hours on scene.

Mechanicsburg Fire Department remains busy Christmas week. This upcoming Saturday, December 20th, Santa will be escorted by the Mechanicsburg Volunteer Fire Department!   Santa's escort will begin at noontime and will continue throughout the afternoon. While we cannot guarantee Santa makes it down every single street, we will stop at the following locations during our rounds.   11am-noon Santa will be at the Downtown Station for pictures and to greet children.   12:15 - Northside Elementary School   2:00 - Kindergarten Academy   2:30

Congratulations to MFD Firefighter TJ Sandhu who was recently promoted to an Interior firefighter after completion of his basic firefighting certification course’s. Yesterday TJ ran his first call as an Interior Firefighter. This is no small feat, TJ has spent hundreds of hours and many months attending courses. We are very fortunate to have TJ as part of our team, and look forward to working with him in his new role as an Interior Firefighter.

Today marks a historic day in Mechanicsburg Fire History! For the first time, Part-time firefighters staffed the station alongside volunteers. These firefighters and a crew of volunteer firefighters spent their first day training and familiarizing themselves with our apparatus. 11-22-2025 2356hrs Company 29 was dispatched to the 23-01 box for a residential structure fire. Engine and Utility 29 made the response. Engine 29 arrived alongside mutual aid units with a light smoke condition from the residence. Engine 29 secured its own water supply and advanced an attack line to the front door. Interior crews found a small fire that was quickly extinguished. Mechanicsburg Volunteer Firefighters operated on scene for less than an hour.
