03-28-2026 1652hrs Company 29 was dispatched to the 29-01 box for a residential structure fire. Squad and Tower 29 made the response. Squad 29 arrived, securing its own water supply and advancing a hose line. Crews were faced with a smoke condition within the home which was traced back to a furnace malfunction. Mechanicsburg Firefighters operated on scene for just over half an hour.

03-24-2026 2038hrs During our weekly training, Company 29 was dispatched to the 30-01 box for a residential structure fire. Squad and Tower 29 made the response. Company 29 arrived and worked to vertically ventilate the structure. Once the fire was brought under control, MFD firefighters assisted with miscellaneous overhaul tasks. Mechanicsburg Volunteer Firefighters operated on scene for 2 hours.

Sunday's crew of firefighters spent the day working and playing hard. At 1326hrs, Squad 29 responded to the 236-03 box for a residential structure fire. MFD firefighters were on the scene for almost 2 hours. Firefighters then took advantage of the nice weather with some pickleball and a crew dinner. The day was wrapped up with a storm response in the 29-03 box for a commercial structure with wind damage.

Firefighters kept busy on a rainy Monday with 6 responses. 1225- Auto accident with injuries 1736- Structure fire (canceled, no fire) 2041- Electrical hazard (transformer) 2124- Medical assist 2131- Commercial fire alarm 2147- Electrical hazard (wires)

Some of our Membership braved the weather this weekend to get a first hand look at the new fire station progress. 01-25-2026 1703hrs During winter storm Fern, Company 29 was dispatched to the 29-01 box for a structure fire. Squad and Tower 29 made the response. Company 29 arrived to find a vehicle fire endangering a structure. Squad 29 secured its own water supply, advanced a long line to the alley, and extinguished the vehicle fire before it could spread into the residence. Mechanicsburg Volunteer Firefighters operated on scene for just over an hour.

12-30-2025 1607 hours Mechanicsburg Volunteer Firefighters finish the year with a Residential Structure Fire. The Mechanicsburg Fire Department was dispatched to the 12-05 box for a residential structure fire. Squad 29 made the response as part of the working fire dispatch. Squad 29 arrived and was assigned to the roof for vertical ventilation. Later, Squad 29’s crew helped our mutual aid partners pick up hose before going available after 1 1/2 hours on scene.
