This Thursday the East Coasts largest 1-day street fair once again returns to Mechanicsburg. Every year we train on Jubilee Day specific operations in preparation for this event. This training prepares firefighters to operate in and around the event and its associated road closures. 5 Call Sunday for the MFD 29
Mechanicsburg Firefighters responded to 5 calls on Sunday. 0924- Baby bird storm drain rescue 0930- Auto accident 0950- Medical assist 1438- Vehicle brakes smoking 1944- Smoke in a residence Firefighters also prepared for jubilee day, assembling and testing our equipment for Thursday and verifying our Jubilee Day map books were still accurate.

Congrats to the New Captain 29

29 Box Dropped for a House Fire
05-29-2026 2112hrs Company 29 was dispatched to the 29-03 box for a residential structure fire. Squad 29 and Tower 29 made the response. Squad 29 arrived, securing their own water supply and advancing a hose line. A small extinguished ventilation fan fire was located. Company 29 operated on scene for one hour.

Garage Fire in the Borough
05-28-2026 1430hrs Company 29 was dispatched to the 29-04 box for a garage fire. Squad 29, Tower 29, and Utility 29 made the response. Crews arrived to find a cooking fire in an attached garage. Squad 29 advanced 1 hose line, quickly bringing the fire under control. Company 29 operated scene for just over an hour.

Monroe Twp. Mobile Home Fire
05-21-2026 0756hrs Engine Company 29 was dispatched to the 25-101 box for a mobile home fire. Squad 29 made the response. Squad 29 arrived to find a single wide mobile home with fire showing. Squad 29’s crew operated as fire attack. Mechanicsburg Firefighters operated on scene for just under 2 hours.

Rainy Wednesday Brings 3 Calls
A Rainy Wednesday brings MFD three incidents in our first due. 1259hrs - Commercial fire alarm 1429hrs - Vehicle accident 1838hrs - Small outside structure fire (shed) Prior to the rain’s arrival, the crew on station completed some required training on Squad 29 for a Firefighter who is working towards being cleared as a Driver/Operator.
