Around 0630AM on January 27, 2022. your MFD volunteers and surrounding mutual aid companies responded to the 100 block of E Main St in the borough for smoke in a building. As units began responding, county reported that the police department was on scene with a working fire to the rear of the address and county upgraded the box to the working fire dispatch. Crews quickly arrived on scene to find heavy fire in the rear of the structure on divisions 1 & 2 and heavy smoke on division 3, as well as some smoke in the exposure buildings. Crews completed rapid and thorough searches of all 3 floors with negative findings confirming all occupants were out. 3 lines were in place and made a great stop to the fire.
