Chimney Fire in the Borough

The Mechanicsburg Fire Department was dispatched to the 29-04 box for a chimney fire. Engine 29 and Truck 29 made the response along with mutual aid companies.

Engine 29 arrived as the first due engine, securing the water supply with their own hydrant and stretching a hoseline to the structure. Truck 29 arrived as the first due Truck Company, setting up on the Alpha Side and utilizing ground ladders to access the roof and chimney. The chimney fire was extinguished before it could extend into the structure.

Mechanicsburg’s Volunteer Firefighters operated on scene for 1 hour. This was the third fire in three days.
