Congratulations from the MFD

The Mechanicsburg Fire Department would like to congratulate Firefighter Melder for his promotion to Lieutenant at our monthly meeting this week. Pictured is Captain Archer presenting Lieutenant Melder with his front.

To be appointed to a Junior Officer position, a firefighter must complete MFD’s promotion process. This includes a required minimum certification level, the completion of a task book, passing our written exam, and receiving reference letters from fellow firefighters who recommend the prospective Lieutenant for the position.
