Jubilee Day Training Starts for Co. 29

Mechanicsburg firefighters prepare for the East Coasts largest one day street fair. Jubilee Day, and its associated road closures, change how we respond and operate at emergencies in our Downtown district.

Every year the Mechanicsburg Fire Department practices advancing long lines from side streets and alley ways up to the street fair. Firefighters also get extra reps advancing and extending our 35' extension ladder. This ground ladder is important for when our ladder truck cannot access tall buildings due to the road closures.

Tuesday was our second of three Jubilee Day specific training sessions. This week we were joined by Upper Allen Twp. Fire Department. Together we completed multiple run-in scenarios that simulated advancing long hose lines during a street fair.
