Tuesday Night Training

Tonights company level training took the Mechanicsburg Fire Department out in the borough to do some rural water supply operations such as fill sites and dump sites. Although the Borough of Mechanicsburg is hydranted, many of our mutual aid municipalities have large areas of unhydranted areas. The purpose of this training tonight was to make sure when we respond to assist mutual aid companies, we are providing them with the best and most efficient services we can provide. Members trained on how to set up fold-a-tanks from a tanker shuttle to supply water to a fire scene where hydrants may be lacking or obsolete, and siphoning from multiple fold-a-tanks. A huge thank you goes out to Upper Allen Fire Department and New Kingstown Fire Company for supplying us with tankers and fold-a-tanks!
