The Mechanicsburg Fire Department was dispatched to the 29-02 Box for a Fire Alarm at an Apartment building. Truck 29, Engine 29, Squad 29, and Utility 29 responded. Upon arrival, Units found waterflow and smoke detector activation in a second floor apartment. Upon entry, the apartment was found to be filled with smoke.
The box was upgraded to a building fire, adding multiple mutual aid partners to the assignment. Engine 29 initiated fire attack, advancing the 300’ handline to the Charlie side. The line was then stretched over a ladder into the second floor apartment. Squad 29 reverse laid supply line from Engine 29 to a nearby hydrant. A small fire was located and extinguished. 1 dog was located and removed from the apartment. The Mechanicsburg Volunteers operated on scene for 2hrs 40 minutes.
